Reasons Why Private Universities Charge High Fees

Have you ever wondered why private Universities pay a whole lot compare to public universities? There are risen to that and here I will explain why private university owners fix a huge sum of money for tuition:

1.     For someone to get seasoned Professors, Ph.D. holders, and of course qualified lecturers, one must Pay, those people are not easily sourced and for quality education you've got to pay High. A professor in Nigeria earns up to 300 thousand naira or thereabout in a month while a Ph.D. holder sums to about 200 thousand. Now look at the situation if you've got up to 3 professors and 5 Ph.D. holders in a department.

2.     These seasoned and qualified lecturers, Ph.D. holders and professors can be found in the public institutions and for a private school to move them, it has to bid higher. That’s why you see many public university lecturers teaching in Private institutions. And at times, some of these Professors are always retired from public institutions. (Those in the public schools can't deny the fact that some of their lecturers do lecture in some private universities).

3.     Furthermore, the issue of strike. Private Universities don't for any reason go on strike, “well they've paid their dues to avoid that",...what's the  essence of you staying in a university more than the stipulated number of years allocated to a course???

4.     In Private schools, they've got access to a whole lot. Internet facility, textbooks, good medical attention, standard hostel accommodation and others.

5.     To buttress my points, in Private Universities your security is guaranteed, that's why most of their students aren't always victims of kidnapping or ritual killings.

6.     And lastly, what's the sole purpose of every establishment if not for Profit making, one must gain, no one wants to start a business without thinking of the profit he's going to make…
