Intra-University Debate Update
The maiden
Intra-University Debate of Lead City University, Ibadan, Kicked off on Monday
14th of April, at the International Conference Centre of the
School’s main Campus. The event which is organized by a group of students known
as Lead City Voices Started on
Monday 14th of April 2014.
The Monday’s debate was
a memorable one in the sense that the students, as well as the guests were
completely thrilled and impressed by the brilliant display and performance of
the debaters.
The topic of the first
debate was “Leaders but Not Followers Are To Blame for Nigerians
Underdevelopment” between the departments of Economics and Biochemistry. The
second topic was “Globalization is a New Form of Imperialism” between the
departments of Mass Communication & Media Technology and Computer Sciences.
The third topic was
“Climate change is Natural and Not Man Made” between the departments of
Politics & International Relations and Microbiology.
After the Monday’s
brainstorming debate, the department of Politics & International Relations defeated
the department of Microbiology, the department of Mass Communication defeated
the department of Computer Sciences and the department of Biochemistry defeated
the department of Economics which made the three outstanding departments
qualify for the final debate.
The key debaters of
Monday’s session were Mr. Savage Ayodeji Afeez and Miss. Ajayi Olubukola (Mass
Communication & Media Technology), Rachel Wilson and Abdullahi Ahmed
(Computer Sciences), among the rest that excelled.
