SUNRISE CHAPTER ONE

                                                                   MY DIALOGUE
By: Biose Falade
People say the “sun is brightest just after the storm”, I guess it’s true because my storm has been ongoing for so long that sometime I almost forget that it could actually end one day. This started some thirty odd years ago. When I was two years of age, it was everyone's belief that the storm will consume me, how wrong they were. But first, let me introduce myself to you, my name is- “charity”. I give my name as charity because that's the name I was given in the place I was found. I am sure you are asking yourself, where was she found?
Well I was found near a flowing dam in a popular University in the world, I was discovered by some kindhearted couple who were walking by the said dam, you see these couple didn’t have children of their own so when they saw me their first thought was to find my parents. This proved to be difficult because my birth was not recorded anywhere. Try as this couple may be, it was as if I dropped down from the sky. There was no helping it; I was a cute baby and they couldn't stop themselves from keeping me. So it came to pass they became my parents.
We had to move to another state where nobody knew them, so they won't have to explain themselves to anyone, my childhood was a happy one, being the only child had its benefits both good and bad, you see my adoptive parents were educators, so it didn't take them long to realize what a special child I was, it wasn't obvious at first but when it was time for me to start walking and I didn't they got very worried and started taking me to see various doctors to know what was wrong with me sadly they couldn't find out on time not until it was too late.
It seemed as if the world had gone crazy for a moment and I had to ask my mum “mummy will I ever walk again?" My mum turned to me with tears in her eyes and a smile on her face and said “but of course my angel it may not be with your physical legs but you will get to where ever you choose to go to no matter what”, do you understand?" I nodded my head in agreement, knowing fully well I could not answer with my voice for fear of breaking down right there in the doctor’s office. (Be on the lookout for Chapter Two).
